Sleep

Make sure you have a comfortable mattress, plenty of fresh air and curtains that turn out the light. If noise is an issue, wear earplugs. Getting proper sleep can affect your performance in your work. That is why many people recommend to follow the standard eight hour sleep.

Diet

Quick and easy foods like chips, noodles, and tortillas can be improved by adding lots of vegetables. Put a bowl of fruit on your desk, and if you’re tempted to snack, you’ll have something healthy on hand right away. If you travel by car, you may have a bag of mixed nuts in the car to snack on.

Exercise

Has this thought crossed your mind lately? However, there are ways to exercise on your busy day. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Maybe you don’t have enough time to take a fitness class, but can you really do a 20-minute routine using a home fitness DVD? If you work at home, take a quick walk around the block each morning before starting work. Another benefit is that you’ll be mentally able to move from home to work, just like when you’re away from home and at work.

Relaxation

Whenever you start a new business, it’s tempting to work around the clock. Being easily accessible at all hours of the day is great for customers but not so great for you. But change that if that’s what you want. No one can work all the time without it taking its toll. Designate one day a week, yes, a full day, not to work. Whenever you turn in at night, write down all the things you need to do or worry about. Most importantly, take time for yourself at least once a week, even if it’s just 20 minutes in the bathtub.
